Glacier offers over 700 hiking trails within the park alone.
Some of the hikes bring you to elevations that provide expansive and panoramic views. 
Others guide you on scenic routes through forest and valleys to rushing waterfalls.

Which ever type of hike you choose – Day hikes, short and easy hike or waterfall hikes – the Park will not disappoint!

When To Visit Glacier National Park?

The best time to visit Glacier National Park is Late June – Mid October.
The Going-to-The-Sun Road access is closed to vehicles outside of this time frame due to snow.
Also, majority of hikes are not accessible outside of this time frame due to snowfall.
The only accessible area by vehicle in Glacier during the winter would be from the West Entrance up to Lake McDonald.
You can hike around the Lake McDonald area during the Winter and Spring for views of what the Park has to offer.
The park begins to snowplow The-Going-To-The-Sun-Road mid to late April.

However if you are biking Glacier, the roads open up in Spring between April-early June for biking.
This also gives you a chance to venture the Going-To-The-Sun Road without cars or crowds.

Overall, Late June – Mid October is the Best Time To Hike Glacier National Park if you are wanting to drive and have access to majority of the hikes.

Tips

Be sure to always carry bear spray.
Always stay at minimum of 100 feet from any wildlife.
